circa 1840, with octagonal browned twist 8 3/4in. barrel, dovetail blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, breech engraved '1', bar action lock engraved and signed 'AURY A ST ETIENNE', walnut half-stock swept at the grip with deeply carved flutes, fitted with border engraved iron cap, single set trigger (currently not setting) with iron engraved spurred trigger-guard, no provision for ramrod
