circa 1875, with round 3 3/4in. barrel, pinched blade fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, break-open frame locked by twin 'Pryse'-bars and signed on the barrel-throat 'DASSEN PATENT' over 'GUSS-STAHL', a crown above 'G.M.' and a crossed keys device above hinge, the front left of frame body with 'L.G.' bisected by a stylised Liege pillar mark above 'SCHUTZ MARK', crude floral engraving repeated above each chamber on the elongated five-shot cylinder, full ring type ejector, double action mechanism and smooth bag-shaped bone grips, traces of finish
