circa 1897, 27 1/4in. black powder only barrels with broad raised matt rib, open sights marked for 100 yards and with two folding leaf sights with white metal inlaid sight lines and marked for 200 and 300 yards, bead fore-sight, the tubes freshly engraved 'ARMY & NAVY CAL .577BX' (sic), 'C S L LONDON 560 gr Bullet', treble-grip action with Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks, border engraving, brushed finish overall, possible historic replacement triggerguard, 15in. pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip-cap, sling eyes, grain split at toe and including 3/4in. recoil pad, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 10lb. 3oz., in a leather case
