A 16-BORE 1865 PATENT ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 7317,
for 1866, 29 1/4in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels (in 2011, wall thicknesses well below recommended minimum), rib engraving indistinct, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, Jones-patent rotary underlever, carved serpentine fences, action incorporating Purdey patent No. 424 of 1865, non-rebounding back-action locks with hammers of hare's ear form with linked strikers, Purdey patent cocking-indicators, patent No. 1464 of 1866, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright, 13 3/4in. figured stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 3oz.
