 AN EXTREMELY FINE CASED PAIR OF .650 FLINTLOCK OFFICER'S PISTOLS IN THE DUELLING STYLE, serial numbered 2021, 
 circa 1814, with browned laminated octagonal 10in. barrels, the top flats signed 'ROBERT WHEELER & SON, MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY', bead fore-sights, colour hardened patent breech-blocks with engraved shell and quadruple platinum lines, borderline and scroll engraved colour hardened top-tangs with shallow notch rear-sights, platinum lined touch-holes, borderline and scroll engraved colour hardened locks signed 'ROBERT WHEELER & SON', roller frizzens with tilted rainproof pans, bolted safes behind the cocks, walnut full-stocks with chequered grips and moulded pommels, blued furniture, twin barrel keys and captive iron ramrods, both pistols being in outstanding condition and appearing little used with just light marks to the French polished stocks, in their maker's walnut case lined and compartmented in red baize (some hidden mothing), trade label inside lid and with a number of period accessories (some added later)
