A .44-40 (WIN) COLT FRONTIER SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, serial no. 219512, with period holster and heritage letter,
the revolver dating to 1901, with 4 3/4in. barrel signed by the maker on the top on two lines, model details in bold on the left side of barrel, blade fore-sight, sighting groove to top-strap, solid frame with short-fluted cylinder, iron grip-straps and trigger guard bow and fitted with a period but probably non-factory mother of pearl grip, the right side chisel-carved in relief with an American Eagle and together with a period open-topped leather holster, a period pair of Colt hard-rubber grips, a Colt Heritage letter and a certificate of proof
Provenance: The Colt Heritage letter states this revolver was shipped on December 16th 1901 to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. of Illinois. The grip configuration was not specified
