* A .300 (LONG) BSA MARTINI-ACTION TRAINING RIFLE, serial no. 17065,
circa 1914, with round 25 1/4in. barrel signed 'MADE BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. LTD. ENGLAND' over 'CARTRIDGE .300 LONG', piled arms trade-mark over-stamped with the Union of South Africa mark to the nocksform, dove-tailed fore-sight on a platform at muzzle, elevating ladder rear-sight, slab-sided receiver with dropping load-ramp and cocking indicator, the left side of receiver with 'BSA' signature and trade-mark, the receiver wrist drilled and tapped for a peep-sight (absent), refinished walnut butt-stock and fore-end (small split to fore-end), ribbed iron heel-plate, all other exposed metalwork with a later but period nickel-plated finish (small losses)
