for 1901, 28in. nitro reproved barrels (in 1966), rib engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS. FROM PURDEY'S. 63. PALL MALL. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON.' and with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip action, removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border and acanthus scroll engraving, the makers name in a scrolling banner, brushed finish, 14 1/2in. stock including 2in. wooden extension (cast on for the left shoulder), weight 5lb. 2oz.
