A PAIR OF FRENCH 1870s BAYONETS, being 1) a Model 1866 "Chassepot" Yataghan Sword Bayonet dated 1874, with 22 1/2 in. blade, ricasso with inspection marks, back engraved for St Etienne Arsenal, quillioned cross-guard with inspection marks and serial number 'Q92445', brass hilt, together with its steel scabbard and black leather frog; 2) a Model 1874 sword bayonet for the Graz rifle, dated 1876, with 20 1/2 in. blade, ricasso with inspection marks, back engraved for St Etienne Arsenal, quillioned cross-guard with inspection marks, wooden grips, brass pommel, steel scabbard, worn, cross-guard and spring pitted, grips and pommel bruised, scabbard pitted and dented above the chape (2)
