A CASED PAIR OF 180-BORE FLINTLOCK MUFF-PISTOLS SIGNED A. & E. WESTON, LEWES, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1810, with slightly tapered iron 1 1/4in. turn-off round barrels, engraved bands at the joints, private proofs, borderline and trophy engraved squared boxlock actions with central ring-necked cocks and concealed automatic triggers, the left sides signed in central oval panels 'A & E WESTON', the right sides 'LEWES', top-tang safes also locking the frizzens, slab-sided walnut grips, in a period burr walnut casing adapted for these pistols, relined and compartmented in blue velvet and including a flask (mainspring replaced), oil bottle and mould, white metal escutcheons to the lid and lock, with key, each pistol 4 3/4in. overall
