A GOOD CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION TRANTER'S PATENT REVOLVER RETAILED BY R.S. GARDEN, LONDON, serial no. 17261T,
circa 1856, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel (marked to the underside with Golden's number '1166'), dove-tailed fore-sight, engraved band at muzzle, shallow notch rear-sight to top of standing breech, the solid top-strap signed 'R.S. GARDEN 29 PICCADILLY LONDON', borderline engraved frame, double action mechanism with spurred hammer, borderline engraved plain five-shot cylinder with strong traces of faded colour, swept chequered walnut saw-handled grip with shallow domed iron grip-cap and articulated rammer to left side of barrel, much finish throughout and in its maker's mahogany case lined and compartmented in green baize, parchment trade label inside lid and with a full suite of accessories as supplied
