circa 1912, with blued octagonal 31 1/2in. barrel signed at breech on top 'C.G. HAENEL, SUHL', dove-tailed ramp fore-sight with side protectors, the muzzle currently fitted with a globe fore-sight signed 'A.G.P.', scaled moulded dove-tail for a rear-sight (sight absent), colour hardened slab-sided receiver, the nocksform signed 'HAENEL-ORIGINAL-AYDT', blued external ejector and retainer, brushed bright falling breech signed on the left side 'ORIGINAL SYSTEM AYDT' together with the serial number, top tang with provision for a peep-sight (sight absent) chequered walnut butt-stock with exaggerated Tyrolean cheek-piece and thumb-rest, Swiss-style iron heel-plate, complex spurred trigger guard bow forming the under-lever, double-set triggers, walnut splinter fore-end and fittings for a sling, much finish remaining
