A .320 (SHORT REV) TRANTER'S 1868 PATENT DELUXE POCKET REVOLVER RETAILED BY JAMES WOODWARD, LONDON, serial no. 34929,
circa 1870, with blued octagonal 3in. barrel signed on the top-flat 'JAS WOODWARD, ST JAMES ST. LONDON', crescent fore-sight, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraving to barrel throat, borderline and scroll engraved solid frame with sighting groove to the top-strap, colour hardened plain five-shot cylinder with recessed chambers and friction device to arbor at front, double-action mechanism, chequered walnut grip, guarded trigger and ejector rod stored alongside the frame below the cylinder on the right hand side, much faded colour and blued finish remaining
