RILEY 12-BORE TOPLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 11258, circa 1890, 30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (in 1962), wave-cut matt rib, engraved 'RILEY. 63. BISHOPSGATE. ST. WITHIN LONDON.', and with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech-end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 3/4 choke, treble-grip action, carved fences, toplever spring broken, bar-action locks with rebounding c-scroll hammers, border engraving with naive scenes of hound flushing pheasant and partridge, bright and blued finish, 14 1/4in. semi-pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip cap, and steel heel and toe plates, weight 6lb. 7oz.
