English, circa 1770, with straight single-edged 25in. blade with broad central fuller and a narrow fuller along the back, both extending to near the reprofiled tip (stained and pitted), the forte of blade fitted with a brass 2in. turn-off cannon barrel (frozen), London proved breech, the reverse side of blade fitted with the pan, frizzen and exposed frizzen-spring, brass pierced turned-down cross-guard (incomplete), natural stag hilt with long exposed trigger blade within the 'D' shaped knuckle-bow and cast brass 'knights-head' pommel
