A GOOD CASED 80-BORE TRANTER'S PATENT TRIGGER-COCKING REVOLVER, serial no. 4308T,
second model circa 1853, with 4 1/4in. Birmingham proofed octagonal barrel with engraved band at muzzle and dovetailed blade front-sight, scroll engraving to barrel throat and top strap, shallow notch rear-sight, the frame with border line engraving and some foliate decoration and bearing the serial no. 4308T, colour hardened five shot cylinder with border lines around nipple wells and the usual Tranter style rope band to the front edge, Tranter patent 2nd type detachable rammer fitted to the left-side of the barrel and action, one piece chequered flared walnut grip with decorated stepped colour hardened oval butt cap, the whole expertly refinished to an extremely high standard and contained in its original green baize lined and partitioned mahogany case, accessories include a good small-size James Dixon & Sons flask, correct type mould (numbered '4624'), cleaning rod, oil-bottle, nipple key, turn-screw and with bullet, lubrication and cap tins
