W.W. GREENER 16-BORE 'GRADE 2 A&D' BOXLOCK NON-EJECTOR, serial no. 20074, circa 1880, 28in. nitro reproved replacement damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'W.W. GREENER. 68. HAYMARKET. LONDON. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS. 1875 TO 1879. NEW BARRELS. MAY. 1902.' and with floral acanthus scroll detailing at the breech-end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. in both, treble-grip early Anson & Deeley patent action, carved fences, large sculpted toplever, automatic side-safety, floral engraved safety housing with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving, the makers name surrounded by a stylised cartouche, brushed finish, 13 5/8in. figured stock including horn buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge release catch, side bolster and horn finial, weight 6lb. 2oz.
