for 1928, 29in. nitro reproved chopperlump barrels (in 2022), ribs engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS, AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL' and '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, some pits, toplevers engraved '1' and '2', removable striker discs, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, cocking-indicators, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining some renewed colour-hardening and finish, 15 1/8in. well-figured (likely replacement) stocks, weight 6lb. 7oz., in their brass-cornered oak and leather case
