A GERMAN THIRD REICH DOVE HEAD OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD BY COPPEL, circa late 1930s, with 31 in. slightly curved nickelled steel single-edged blade fullered on each side, ricasso maker-marked 'ALSOCO' [for Alexander Coppel] with scales trade-mark and 'SOLINGEN' under, cast brass hilt with raised oakleaf decoration, quillioned cross-guard with langets, one side with eagle & swastika, the other with a blank cartouche, eared back-strap, dove's head pommel, wire-bound black celluloid grip, black-painted steel scabbard with suspension ring, nickelling bubbling on blade, scabbard with paint flaking, small rust patches and some shallow denting
