A RARE PATTERN 1892 INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD WITH VICTORIA GUARD CYPHER AND WILKINSON 'WD' BLADE, issue date of '10 '93', with 32 1/2 in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, ricasso with Broad Arrow above 'WD', Wilkinson inspection mark, bend test 'X' with two further Wilkinson inspection marks above '10 '93', plus Enfield inspection marks next to reissue dates of '98 and '99, plus 'WILKINSON LONDON', brass hilt with gothic guard and pierced Victorian cypher, wire-bound fish-skin grip, with a brown leather field scabbard, worn, blade stained with blinded pitting, fish-skin absent from above the top wire band exposing cracked wood. scabbard shrunk with stitching splitting at the throat
