A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION DEANE HARDING PATENT REVOLVER SIGNED DEANE & SON, serial no. 5042L,
circa 1860, with 6in. blued octagonal barrel, the top-strap signed 'DEANE & SON, LONDON BRIDGE', dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, two-piece borderline engraved blued frame with swinging cylinder lock, plain cylinder, double action mechanism, chequered walnut saw-handled grip, iron butt-cap, guarded trigger and hinged under-barrel rammer, the pistol retaining a strong amount of original but faded finish and together with its maker's mahogany storage case lined and compartmented in green baize and complete with an Adams mould, flask (mainspring broken), loading rod, turn-screw, nipple-key, lubricating compound and cap-tins, all probably as supplied, the inside of lid with parchment 'Deane Adams & Deane' trade label
