A PATTERN 1887 MARK I SWORD BAYONET FOR THE MARTINI-HENRY RIFLE, dated 1891, with 18 1/4 in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, ricasso with crown over 'V R / /86 / C '91' plus Broad Arrow over 'WD', 'E M' (scored through), inspection marks and bend test 'X' opposite, cross-guard stamped '3094', pommel with sold-out-of-service mark, black leather scabbard, frog-stud with Broad Arrow and scored through 'E M', worn, blade with some staining, cross-guard and pommel surface rusted, locket and chape heavily pitted
