CHARLES BOSWELL 12-BORE BOXLOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 17981, circa 1932, 28in. replacement nitro barrels (between 1942-1949), the rib engraved 'BARRELS BY GEORGE GIBBS LTD. 51 BALDWIN STREET BRISTOL', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 3/4 choke, wall thicknesses at 13+, treble-grip action, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, triggers set for the left hand, the fences carved in high relief with oak leaves and acorns, bold acanthus scroll engraving surrounding game scenes of pheasant and partridge, the underside with a retriever with duck, the toplever with a heron, the triggerguard with a running hare, 15 5/8in. stock including 2in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 8oz.
