BC2295, circa 1870 and converted from muzzle-loading, serial number on fore-end wood only, 29in. black powder only damascus barrel with faceted breech-section, engraved 'JOHN MANTON & SON. DOVER STREET. LONDON.' (faint), 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. true cyl., bar-action sidelock with rebounding hammer, sidelever opening, border and acanthus scroll engraving with game scene vignette of hound, patinated finish, 13 1/4in. figured stock (cracked through at head), including steel buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge release catch, weight 5lb. 13oz.
