from the 1868 patent line, circa 1872, with blued octagonal 5in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'H. EGG No.1 PICCADILLY, LONDON', crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, borderline engraved solid frame, plain cylinder with traces of colour, rope-twist engraved band to leading edge, buttressed locking notches, polished hammer and trigger, chequered walnut one-piece semi saw-handled grip, domed iron grip-cap, guarded trigger and long under-barrel ejector, much faded finish remaining
