circa 1912, with heavier weight blued round 27 1/2in. barrel, ramp and tunnel fore-sight, elevating adjustable ladder rear-sight, the top of barrel signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. LONDON' and marked near breech 'W.R. DETACHABLE BARREL' and 'FOR .300 SPECIAL CARTRIDGE', triangular trademark to nocksform, plain blued slab-sided receiver marked on the left 'WESTLEY RICHARDS SHERWOOD RIFLE', the right with 'PATENT REMOVABLE ACTION', polished feed-ramp with cocking indicator, figured walnut butt-stock chequered at the wrist, smooth iron heel-plate (corroded), chequered beavertail fore-end and colour hardened finger-lever, much finish remaining
