A MOST RARE AND UNUSUAL 9-BORE PERCUSSION OVER AND UNDER SHOTGUN SIGNED F.S. BRYANT, NOTTINGHAM, no visible serial number,
circa 1860, with Birmingham proved laminated 30 3/8in. barrels, the top signed 'F.S. BRYANT, NOTTINGHAM', squared breech-blocks with nipples mounted facing right, borderline engraved standing breech and top-tang, borderline engraved back-action lock signed centrally 'F.S. BRYANT' and with twin 'mule-ear' hammers (repaired), chequered walnut half-stock (cracked and well repaired at wrist, iron furniture including finger-spurred lower tang, horn schnabel tip to the beavertail fore-end, no provision for ramrod
Provenance: No trace of F.S. Bryant can be found in the record books. This shotgun is possibly a prototype or even a patent submission
