A SCARCE HOWE-ENGRAVED 12-BORE SELECTIVE SINGLE-TRIGGER BOXLOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 1027,
circa 1966, 28in. nitro barrels with matt Churchill-rib, the tubes engraved 'D.J. DRYHURST. BIRMINGHAM.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, scroll-back action, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, selective single-trigger, rolled-edge triggerguard, fine bold acanthus scroll engraving with matt detailing and beaded bordering, retaining some original colour-hardening and finish, 15in. highly-figured stock with engraved steel heel and toe plates, the fine chequering with ornate bordering, weight 6lb. 7oz., in a lightweight leather case


Provenance: This gun is one of just nine boxlocks made by David Dryhurst, all between 1964 and 1968.
