* A RARE .500 (BOXER) TRANTER'S PATENT ARMY REVOLVER RETAILED BY COGSWELL & HARRISON, LONDON, serial no. 22077,
circa 1870, with blued octagonal 7in. barrel additionally numbered 'M3425' on the right side near breech, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraved panels to sides of throat, pillar fore-sight, shallow standing notch rear-sight above standing breech, the border engraved top-strap signed 'COGSWELL & HARRISON 223 & 224 STRAND LONDON', borderline and scroll engraved frame, long fluted five-shot cylinder with raised and moulded band for the locking notches to rear, flat-fronted short pullout ejector stored in the cylinder arbor, hinged loading gate, double action mechanism, chequered walnut saw-handled grip, domed iron butt-cap and guarded trigger, strong traces of blued finish remaining
