circa 1870, with well rebrowned 29 3/4in. barrels, the top-rib signed 'JOSEPH HARKOM, 32 PRINCES STREET, EDINBURGH', bead fore-sight, engraved pin apertures, border and scroll engraved rounded action table with Jones type swing under-lever, fully engraved long top-tang, border and scroll engraved back action locks, engraved dolphin hammers, highly figured chequered walnut butt-stock, iron furniture including grip safety to the trigger guard tang, chequered trigger blades, traces of colour to action and locks, in its oak and leather case compartmented and lined in green baize, Joseph Harkom & Sons trade label inside lid and including a period tin for Curtis & Harvey No2. powder and a powder measure and case sizer, the tray lifting out to reveal a storage compartment for cartridges
