A .577 (SNIDER) ALBINI-BRAENDLIN PATENT CONVERSION OF A PATTERN 1856 TYPE RIFLED MUSKET, no visible serial number,
dated for 1863 but probably converted later, with blued commercially proved 30in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, flip-up breech with a supporting block on barrel for when open, the right side of block near hinge marked with a Braendlin trademark of crossed flags and a 'B', straight assist handle, central firing pin attached to the hammer nose and locking the breech when forwards, bar-action lock bearing date, walnut three-quarter stock with iron furniture, two barrel bands, swivels for a sling, iron nose-cap and jag-tipped ramrod, bayonet lug to right side of barrel
