circa 1880, 38 1/2in. black powder reproved bold laminated steel barrel with hexagonal breech section engraved 'J. & W. TOLLEY. MAKERS. ST. MARY'S SQre. BIRMm.', large triggerplate action, patent no. 284 of 1873, use number 131, Jones patent rotary-underlever, removable striker disc, early high mounted sidelever safety, border engraving, bright finish, 14 1/4in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with steel pistolgrip-cap and including 1in. recoil pad, fore-end with Homer 1877 patent release catch and sculpted horn finial, weight 14lb. 3oz.
