circa 1907, original 28in. nitro reproved barrels, the ribs engraved 'BOSS & CO. 73, ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 (No.1) and 1/4 choke both (No.2), wall thicknesses circa recommended minimum;
additional 30in. nitro reproved barrels (by another), the ribs engraved 'BOSS & CO. 73 ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 3/4in. sleeved chambers, Teague multichokes (no spares);
toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, triggerplates marked as Boss 1894 improved patent single triggers, the lockplates with improved with 1898 improved side selectors with gold-inlaid 'R' and 'L' details, rolled-edge triggerguards, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and some renewed finish, 15in. well-figured replacement semi-pistolgrip stocks including 1/2in. recoil pads, weight 6lb. 7oz. (original barrels) and 6lb. 11oz. (additional barrels), in a universal double case; together with the original approx. 14 3/8in. straight hand stocks with triggerguards, in a custom leather stock case
