A RARE VICTORIAN SPOTTING TELESCOPE SIGNED THOMAS JONES, LONDON, serial no. 197, WITH A.J. PARKER 'FIRMA' TABLE TRIPOD,
the telescope circa 1865, with leather covered main body, three brass draws, the first signed 'THOMAS JONES, 62 CHARING CROSS (Cross spelt with a long 's'), LONDON' together with the serial number and a heart-shaped East India Company mark, the oak folding tripod signed in a decal 'ALFRED J. PARKER, GUNS, RIFLES, ACCESSORIES, BATH ST, BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND' and stamped 'ALFRED J. PARKER' and 'THE 'FIRMA' TELESCOPE STAND', the telescope support formed from two 'V' shaped blocks and with central securing strap, the rear folding lag formed from brass and adjustable on a thread, both in good condition
