third model circa 1835, with six-shot 3 1/4in. barrel group with side-ribs between each barrel, fixed nipples, etched nipple-shield, rounded iron box-lock action engraved with open scrolls, the central bar-hammer marked on the left side 'ALLEN & THURBER' over 'GRAFTON MASS', the top 'ALLEN'S PATENT', 'quick-drop' smooth walnut grips, each with a small white-metal oval escutcheon, narrow grip-straps and guarded trigger, slight traces of finish
