circa 1873-75, utilizing earlier percussion components, with 4 1/2in. octagonal sighted barrel, top flat signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S AMERICA', rebated five-shot cylinder rubbed of scene, conversion ring (loading gate absent), open iron frame stamped 'PAT JULY 25. 1871' and 'PAT JULY 27. 1872', hammer fitted with off-set firing pin, brass grip straps and smooth one-piece walnut grip (cracked and repaired on right side), matching numbers except wedge
