A 12-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 18726,
for 1906, 30in. Whitworth-steel nitro chopperlump barrels, rib inscription rubbed, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, left wall at 19, removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, arrow cocking-indicators, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 3/8in. figured stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 8oz., in a brass-cornered leather case


Provenance: We are kindly informed that the gun was completed on the 4th September 1906 for a George Hardy.
Further notes in the records indicate the gun was subsequently sold on the 27th September 1928 to a W.J. Hutchinson for Reverend G.V. Cotton. The gun was noted as being for sale at C.B. Vaughan's for 'about £65'.
On the 6th April 1943 the stock was temporarily lengthened to 15 3/8in. on behalf of A. Kirkup, possibly to pair with 23397
