dated for 1867, with 34 1/2in. barrel with bayonet lug on the underside of muzzle, block and blade fore-sight, ladder rear-sight, flip-up breech numbered '1599' on the underside, plain back-action lock marked in a small roundel 'JH' over '59', regulation iron mounted full walnut stock with nose-cap and two further barrel bands, provision for a clearing rod (rod absent) and fitted with swivels for a sling
