circa 1870's, with 3in. round nickel-plated sighted barrel signed 'COLTS HOUSE PISTOL' over 'HARTFORD CT U.S.A', plated brass solid frame, left bottom side stamped '41 CAL', top strap stamped 'PAT SEPT 19 1871', four-shot fully fluted 'cloverleaf' style cylinder, single action exposed spurred hammer with sheathed trigger, smooth walnut birdshead grips, captive under-barrel case extractor rod, much nickel plated finish remaining
