A RARE .577/.450 MARTINI-HENRY MARK I IC1 SERVICE CAVALRY CARBINE BY ENFIELD, no visible serial number,
dated 1877, with 20 1/2in. sighted barrel with proof, inspection and Broad Arrow 'WD' marks, tilting block action, right side of receiver with crown above 'V . R / ENFIELD / 1877' lock-viewer's mark and 'I. C. 1', proof and inspection marks over, walnut stock, right side of butt with crisp Enfield roundel and date '7 / 1882', complete with an inspected and Broad Arrow marked cleaning rod and an apparently original sight-guard, many parts, including butt and sight-cover screws, with Broad Arrows and/or inspection marks, appears all original, pitting to some metalwork and some scratching to the stock
