Choke:
Stock: 14 5/8 1/32in.
Notes:
Action with clip sides (no note of action shape)

Schmidt ejectors
Later paired to 13393, completed October 1889. Unlike this gun, that one appears to have been completed with Wem ejectors
Both guns were later in the hands of F. Astley (c. 1920s)

They have also confirmed this to be a very interesting example, being fitted with Schmidt ejectors. One of three patterns of ejectors being experimented with around 1888/9, this design, along with the Nobbs ejector were "also rans" - and just three examples of this pattern ejector are known to have been made.

The conversion to single trigger from double is not recorded in Purdey's ledgers, most likely it will have been executed by Boss & Co., but the date of the conversion is unknown.

Other Notes: H. Schmidt appears on numerous occasions in the dimension books under 'luggers' and his name appears in the Purdey wage books in May 1875 'H. Schmidt - levers, luggers £3.12s 6d.' and also January 1889 'H. Schmidt - levers, luggers £3.10s.0d' (courtesy of Appendix 5 of 'James Purdey & Sons Gun and Rifle Makers - Two Hundred Years of Excellence' by Donald Dallas)
