28in. nitro barrel with block-mounted folding leaf sights for 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards, block-mounted bead fore-sight, the breech end gold-inlaid 'W. W. GREENER' and engraved '68 HAYMARKET LONDON S.W., the knox form engraved 'AMMUNITION 450 CORDITE', stepped-top frame, manual tang safety, reblacked action with border engraving and later gold highlighting, the makers name later inlaid in gold in a scrolling banner, underlever with renewed colour-hardening, 14 5/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with colour-hardened steel pistolgrip stock, sling eyes and steel buttplate with trap with later engraved crowned monogram and 'Sir Edwin Landseer', weight 9lb. 1oz.

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was proved on the 8th March 1905 and finished on the 28th November as a plain 'U15 Grade' Farquharson single barrel .450 rifle with a 28in. barrel. The border engraving was undertaken by Stokes. No mention of gold inlay appears in the records.
