30in. Whitworth-steel nitro barrels, raised matt rib with scrollwork and 'Scott's Improved Bolt' engraved at the breech end, the tubes engraved 'W. & C. SCOTT & SON. MAKERS. 55 VICTORIA STREET. LONDON. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', and the right tube engraved in black type with 'THE IMPERIAL PREMIER' and with the Scott trademark, the breech ends carved with bands of acanthus, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 and full choke, treble-grip action with patent gas checks and side-clips, automatic safety with engraved 'SAFE' detail, some gold-washed internals, rolled-edge triggerguard, the action, lockplates and furniture carved in high relief with stylised scrolling acanthus interspersed with game birds, including pheasant, English partridge, woodcock, duck and snipe, the underside with geese, the triggerguard with grouse, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in highly-figured stock, the chequering with highly ornate bordering, the fore-end decorated en suite, engraved skeletal steel buttplate, weight 6lb. 13oz., in a re-lined leather case
