A 20-BORE FLINTLOCK SASH-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1740, with slightly swamped round 7in. iron barrel, the short sighting flat engraved with a needle and tear-drop signed 'NORWICH', London proofs and makers mark at breech together with an engraved border, solid engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved radiused lock signed 'T. PAGE' within a scrolled border, unbridled frizzen, pointed tail, walnut full-stock (repaired crack at butt), the bulbous pommel fitted with a long-spurred brass butt-cap with a raised central grotesque mask, carved tear-drops and apron around the top-tang, plain brass wrist escutcheon with north-south decorative finials, pierced brass martial side-plate, double roll-edged trigger-guard bow with acorn finial and possible period horn-tipped ramrod
