circa 1800, with side-by-side 4 3/4in. barrels, bead fore-sight, gold line at breech, border and scroll engraved top-tang with central shallow sighting groove, bevel edged locks with further engraved detail at the stepped tails and signed 'MONCK' forwards of the hammers, sliding safes behind each hammer, rainproof gilded pans, roller frizzens, walnut three-quarter stock with finely chequered bag-shaped butt, shield shaped escutcheon to wrist, guarded double triggers, horn fore-end tip and captive stirrup iron ramrod
