circa 1810, with expertly re-browned 10in. octagonal barrels, the top-flats signed in gilt script 'D. EGG, LONDON', polished muzzle-faces, gold fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights to the breeches with twin gold lines behind, borderline and trophy engraved top-tangs, border engraved slightly curved flat locks with floral embellishment to the pointed tails, en-suite Manton style cocks with sliding safes behind also locking the frizzens, gold-lined rainproof pans, platinum lined touch-holes, the frontal frizzen faces with border engraving and signed 'D, EGG PATENT', rollers to the springs, walnut half-stocks with chequered bag-shaped butts, small plain gold oval escutcheons to the wrists, border and florally engraved blued trigger-guards with applied finger-spurs and French-form pillar fronts, vase finials, white metal oval barrel key escutcheons, moulded and engraved fore-end nose-caps with integral ramrod apertures and plain ramrod thimble mounted to the applied under-ribs, both pistols fitted with horn-tipped brass and ebony ramrods, one with concealed worm end and complete with their maker's fitted mahogany storage case, lined and compartmented in green baize and containing a period three-way flask (mainspring replaced), a period brass oil-bottle, the original auxiliary load and cleaning rod, a scissors ball-mould and a combination tool with replacement blade, small 'D. Egg' parchment label inside lid and circular brass escutcheon and ring handle to outer, with flush hook closure to front
