A GOOD 11mm (MAUSER) BOLT-ACTION REPEATING RIFLE MODEL 'MAUSER M71/84', serial no. 1657,
dated for 1888, with blued 32in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight retaining its scarce brass muzzle protector, elevating ladder rear-sight, brushed bright receiver with straight handled matching number bolt, walnut full-stock (some loss to detail on ordnance marks), iron furniture including three barrel-bands and stacking spike to the front of the concealed magazine tube, the whole expertly refinished and complete with a Venezuelan bayonet for same in apparently unissued condition and a reproduction leather sling of correct pattern
Other Notes: This rifle is almost certainly one of a number expertly refurbished by the Gibbs Rifle Co. in the 1980s
