circa 1880, with nickel-plated 2 1/2in. sideways hinged barrels signed in italics 'COLT' along the top, small crescent fore-sight, London proofs, nickel-plated open frames, blued hammers and spur triggers, second type frame with birdshead grips and fitted with factory ivory grips, some flaking to plated finish, mostly to barrels
