AN 8-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED FOWLING-PIECE, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
circa 1850, with re-browned octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 32in. barrel (loss to detail), bead fore-sight, plain breech, engraved flat lock with clipped tail (detail rubbed), engraved hammer, teak half-stock (a working replacement) with traces of chequering to wrist, iron furniture except white metal escutcheon at wrist, barrel key escutcheons and nose-cap, replacement ramrod (one thimble partially detached) and repairs to wood below lock
