for 1918, with heavy-weight octagonal blued 30in. barrel, dove-tailed 'LYMAN' folding ring fore-sight, buckhorn rear-sight, the top left-hand flat of barrel signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. USA PATENTED OCTOBER 7 1879', slab-sided blued falling-block action with central hammer, top-tang fitted with a folding Lyman type vernier peep sight, chequered straight-hand butt-stock, iron crescent heel-plate, blued under-lever, special Winchester double set trigger, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with inlet ebony tip, much finish remaining
